Deliverable 10.3 Project advertising material

This document represents the deliverable D10.3: “Project advertising material” in the framework of the SPIRE project entitled “Optimization and performance improving in metal industry by digital technologies” (Project Acronym: INEVITABLE; Grant agreement no.: 869815). The document is based on the terms and conditions established in the Grant Agreement signed by the European Commission and the project coordinator, and its Annexes as well as other INEVITABLE specifications and requirements.

The INEVITABLE project aimed to improve performance indicators in the steel and nonferrous metals sectors by retrofitting existing production sites with digitalization and innovative control technologies. The project consortium consisted of industrial end-users, institutions specialized in metallurgy and related control technologies, and process control and automation providers and research institutions. Enabling digital technologies were developed, deployed, and validated within predetermined use cases covering various metallurgical processes. Results can be reconstructed and reproduced using some datasets that have been published to showcase the technologies. These technologies were tested through five demonstrations, all of which showed significant improvements in process performance, product quality, productivity, energy efficiency, yield, and equipment reliability. The project led to a significant increase in the adoption of new approaches and related expertise. Several courses including accompanying training materials were created, and six different innovations were identified, each with high potential for exploitation. This deliverable provides an overview of the project results and lessons learned. The project contributes to Europe’s sustainability and resource efficiency goals by increasing material and energy efficiency.
