Deliverable 7.5 Recoded EAF model and optimization framework

The present document constitutes the deliverable D7.5 of the SPIRE project titled “Optimization and performance improving in metal industry by digital technologies” (Project Acronym: INEVITABLE; Grant agreement no.: 869815 [1]).

The deliverable contains details on the activities of Task 7.5 of WP7 concerning the recoding of the developed software solutions for the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) from the initial programming languages and environments to an industrially appropriate programming language, which facilitates their integration into the selected hardware and software platforms. WP7 represents the Use Case 1 and is focused on the implementation of the developed technology into two industrial processes, i.e., the EAF and the cold rolling mill (ZRM) in ACRONI steel plant.

The present deliverable reports on the selected programming language, communication protocols needed for proper data transfer, the architecture of the overall implementation infrastructure, verification and validation processes of the recoded solutions, and assessment of their computational speed, which are used to transfer and integrate the solutions developed in the scope of WP4 from initial development programming language into an industrially appropriate programming language.

The work performed in the scope of Task 7.5 is closely related also to the work performed in the scope of Task 7.6, which deals with appropriate user interfaces that facilitate the use of the recoded solutions.
